Privacy Notice

As you are now probably aware the new law concerning Data Protection comes into force on 25 May 2018. This law gives us all a greater say in how our data is stored and what it is used for.

Data is explained as any information which can identify a person. This only applies to information we collect about you, it does not apply to clinical information we record about your pet.

The information we hold on you is:

  • Your name

  • Your address

  • Your telephone numbers

This is the information you give us when you make your first appointment, and its use and storage is subject to the new law. We consider the keeping and recording of this information is a legitimate interest and without it we cannot fulfil our contract with you and help you with the care of your animals. If you want to see the information, we hold on you please contact us by phone and we will put a hard copy in the post to you.

Your information is stored digitally in secure Word and Excel Files. We do not use cloud storage.  We do not routinely pass your information to third parties and will seek your consent if we need to do so i.e. to other veterinary practices when referral is appropriate. We understand from our website provider that no information is collected by them from which you can be identified except that which you may give us asking for contact.

PJE Home Vet reserves the right to record late payments (payments made more than one month after the invoice date) and non-payment (debts to this practice) on the owner’s animal’s clinical records.

This means that the animal history forwarded to other veterinary practices with the owner’s consent may show these details.

Please note that our veterinary services will always be withdrawn in cases of non-payment and owners will be appropriately notified of this in line with Royal College guidelines.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to call us.

We reserve the right to change or update this Privacy Notice when necessary or appropriate and a revised copy will be placed on our web site.  April 2019
